Field trip to Capgemini
25 June 2024
In the morning of June 25th, we went on a field trip to Capgemini in Hamburg.
First, we were introduced to the general objectives of Capgemini and their company structure. Then, we discovered what working as an IT architect actually means and what a typical project could look like. This includes also connections to mathematics as well as differences to the PhD life. After a coffee break, we further gained insights into how GenAI, one of the current hot topics, can be applied to industrial problems. We concluded the visit with a tour around (yes, it is topologically a circle) the office and a Q&A session, where we could get even more personal impressions of working outside academia.
Overall, we had a great trip and want to thank everyone involved. In particular, our former president, Anja, for the awesome organization.
